General session: New tests in pre-clinical neuroscience
Schedule: Thursday 19th May 2022 15:13-15:45 CET. Virtual Room 1.
15:13-15:30 See what you have been missing: what locomotor activity can teach us in terms of refinement, reduction and replicability ‘round the CLOCK' (24/7) animal studies.
Stafano Gaburro. Techniplast, Italy.
Home cage monitoring systems have provided recent robust evidences that, within home cage settings, a better welfare and more reproducible data in laboratory animals can be achieved. A total of four example will be shared.
15:30-15:45 Beyond locomotion: stimulus selectivity of sensory evoked behaviours unfolds in a higher dimensional space.
Riccardo Storchi. University of Manchester, UK.
Changes in locomotion state have been widely used to define sensory evoked behaviors such as freeze or escape. However an accurate map between sensations and actions requires a quantification of motor actions that are distinct from locomotion.
